Page score

For a quick coded pass over a public page before you send it to a fuller checker. Start with Getting started. The sibling product is WaveCheck. This route credits WaveCheck and does not pretend to be a browser run or a Lighthouse score.

GET /v1/score fetches one https URL and checks seven tags: title, meta description, lang, viewport, charset, a single h1, and a canonical link. The answer is a score out of 100. If the fetch fails, available is false and no score is invented.

Rails, on purpose:

  • https only, port 443, no username or password
  • hostname, not an IP address
  • DNS is resolved first. Private, link-local, metadata, and documentation ranges are refused
  • the connection is pinned to that address
  • redirects are not followed. Pass the final URL
  • HTML only, capped at 200KB

Try it

https://fetch.li/v1/score?url=https://fetch.li
